Creating VENTURES through Entrepreneurial thinking

Great Dreamers' dreams are never fulfilled...they are always transcended>>>

We are all aware that institutes like MIT & Stanford, et al are renowned for making America till today the largest producer of successful ventures in the world. The philosophy which works there is such that people tend to develop the entrepreneurial thinking which still today lacks in India. People there have to earn themselves starting at 18 itself as their families are not interested in sponsoring them except their college fees, or some not even them. They have to either get a scholarship, or do part time jobs. People who don't get scholarship, & are lazy enough to avoid part time hardships in addition to the labour of attending classes, have that philosophical thinking to make themselves self employable, as resources & community is that sound to accept the change. Some of them, as shown in television series, even manage to have cool relationships {<3}& can showcase the attitude. But in India the latter aspect has been replicated properly & former been neglected.

India certainly has seen a lot of development on the Entrepreneurial front in recent days. Almost all the colleges are having E cells (Entrepreneurship Cells) attached to them. These E cells are built with a vision & mission to pitch in or enhance entrepreneurial thinking within the community & to provide tools to them which can sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. In simple words, if you have skill, don't waste it in working for others, be self employable & create employment for others. This is what is needed to sustain economic development in India. This not only increases employment rate of the country through enhanced human resourcing but also every new venture created & its R&D will contribute to the manufacturing sector in India. And we would certainly see monopoly within goods & gadgets having a Made in India tag rather than Made in China. This feeling has certainly made me proud of recent competition to the biggies like Nokia, LG, Samsung, etc, provided by our very own Micromax, Spice, etc. The Indian community needs to understand that these mobiles are available for cheap, because apart from taxes they have cheaper parts in them, imported from China. It's important here to understand that these locals will need some time for their R&D to reach the levels of biggies like formers. The Indian community needs to support them. India offers a market of more than twice that of America. These mobile companies are going to offer tremendous entrepreneurial opportunity in coming future. Ventures writing applications for them, ventures manufacturing parts for them, communication research labs working on them, customer services, HR, etc.

Now coming back to what I was talking about as the topic goes. The E cells today are concentrating more on conducting events & other projects, which no doubt provides a learning base for the community. But there is a thing that they miss out on. Entrepreneurship is also a science in itself & practical knowledge is to be supplemented to the theoretical knowledge that is gained through the events. In simple words, just participating in events will make a person aware of some skills that he was not aware of before. But what next? He won’t understand the power of those skills, unless he uses them. Lots of stuff read, heard & seen, when to act? People who dream can dream further only if they can practically research their dream, (dreams getting transcended)! E cells today are recognized by the best event they organize or the biggest prize money they give away. But who is considering the number of ventures it successfully started. Or how many people started off without being a part of that E cell & without participating in any competition that it facilitated. What if the latter exceeds the former? What's the use of that E cell then?

The E cells need to concentrate on this very aspect of making the community hands on their skills. No matter what, each member of the community should START-UP. This is what is going to make, CEL-BITS stand tAll within the community of E cells. With the creation of Sparks NV in 2009, CEL has taken that very step towards bridging the gap between facilitating only theoretical skills & actually working on them. At, Hyderabad, CEL is going to again take a plunge with the creation of Technological Entrepreneurship Development dept. (TED) soon. This would make for the lack in practicality of Entrepreneurship. No matter what, students should start ventures, & try making them sustainable & scalable. It’s innocuous whether it fails or succeeds. They are after all in the protected environment of the campus. It's not compulsory to think of a big idea, participate in a B-plan comp., win it, & contact VCs. You can think small, take a small but impact creating Idea, work on it, 'transcend' it. It will give you practicality of Entrepreneurship, it will certainly make you a true leader, and it will make you stand tall in life. If 100 worked on, at least 1 will succeed, it’s better than not to work on even a single venture.  You get 99+1 case studies in return! This very aspect needs to be concentrated on by E cells. Only WORDS won’t create a leader, WORK is equally important! Don’t just create competitions, also create ventures!

Dreams cannot be transcended, unless they are worked upon, if they are worked upon, these dreams would expand to be worked upon again & never can thus be fulfilled, ending nowhere, it’s a loop! But if they aren't worked upon, how can they be expanded?

Congress For Common Man | BUDGET 2010 SPECIAL

Back to home this weekend. Saturday, 27th Feb, 2010, it is unusually cold morning in Nagpur where it’s usually hotter. It is 7 a.m. & Aai has prepared my favourite Tetley’s Ginger & Lemon, along with it is the THE TIMES OF INDIA, which reads budget 2010 special edition. Everyone here knows that the Annual Indian Budget is a dummy edition of the country’s finances prepared by the Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, still, the newspaper vendors manage to sell around 50,000 copies of THE ET special BUDGET edition till night 10’o’ clock here. Browsing through the newspaper, I thoroughly read the views of CELEBRITIES especially the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Shahrukh, Aamir, Hrithik, Deepika, etc. & everyone seemed to be sub-normally satisfied with the budget, except some excellences viz. K M Birla, Yashwant Sinha (of course in opp.), Mamta Banerjee, Left, etc. who were partially satisfied. Then I went on reading the typical “As a consumer, As an investor....” format of the paper.

The overall budget was neither surprising nor satisfying. Remember what INC had said:”Congress ka haath AAM AADMI ke SAATH”! It seems the Congress’ hand is not for helpin’ but strangling the common man a.k.a. Aam Aadmi! Thanks to Pranab Da, I mean Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, the curbs on income tax, only for people earning more than Rs. 3 lakhs per annum, haven’t enough eased the economic burdens of the Common Man. Already fighting a 20% inflation in food prices, the increase in exise duty by about 2%, & much talked increase in ESSENTIAL fuel prices, have already tightened the rope around Common Man’s neck! Calculating the finances of a citizen earning around 5 lakhs INR annually gets a relief of around 20,600 INR through annual income tax, but the increase in Service Tax, Customs, Excise duty, & fuel prices have hardly left any space for more saving. That citizen would be lucky if he’s to stay in any metro, or semi-metros of India, as he can easily save excess fuel costs by using public transport & miss on his own vehicle giving a much relief o the environment, but there is no proper public transport in other places in India. The heavy price rise is to dampen the domestic demands of products en-route making a difficult economy. The intention of lowering income tax i.e. to enhance buying can thus be a spoilt sport due to this price rise. There is also much less concentration on agriculture, rural areas & environment. The UPA government has played foul with the common man, it is now upto them to decide the next government which is far away though. Not just lack of social security, the common
man as been denied financial security also. The 6th pay commission has also not been too effective.

Anyway, there is joy at the other bay. The Corporates are enjoying this budget with Sensex rising 415 pts day’s high. The much expected cut in Fiscal deficit, reduction in corporate tax surcharge are many of the reasons for B-persons to cheer. The budget can make re-think the corporates especially NRI’s to invest in Motherland instead because of the luring juicy returns India can offer, as the West is yet to recover from the Economic DOOMSDAY!

Speaking With Orange!

As the address of the blog goes I will definitely be Speaking With Orange in my first post. Here it goes-
Myself: Hello Orange, thank you for coming here, this first time I am in a face-to-face with a guy like you!
Orange: O’ really its a great pleasure for me to be here, this is also my first time to speak with a guy like you!
Myself: Well its strange to see that your families’ volume has been shrinking now-a-days, where are you from basically?
Orange: I am from a city called Nagpur in central India, also known as Orange City-named after my family. I also have many relatives in Florida, Brazil, etc. Yes it’s true that our volume has been shrinking since we have been kept on a severe diet plan by our farmers, they say it’s because they don’t have enough money to feed us, as they are concentrating on growing more quantities of other fruits which are heavy in demand in the market. It’s also getting hotter day-by-day.
Myself: Why do you think that other fruits are heavy in demand in the market?
Orange: There is no great reason for this, only popularity and taste. Sometimes, some of my family members give sour or bitter taste, and people don’t want to risk on that as from outside they cannot guess what would the taste be, as in case of fruits like mango, apple, water-melon, banana, etc.
Myself: Do you think there can be any reason related to nutritional value that might be leading to your disappearance from the market?
Orange: This is rubbish! No other fruit can provide as much nutrition as I can!
Myself: O’ really? Can you tell me what all things are you rich in?
Orange: I belong to the CITRUS family. I have plenty of Copper, fats, fibre, folic acid, iron, magnesium, proteins, sodium, sulphur, etc. I can provide many vitamins like vitamin A,B-thiamine, C, also calcium, phosphorus, potassium and some calories giving you a lot of energy!
Myself: What are the health benefits that all these substances can give us?
Orange: > Calcium can help in protection n maintenance of bones n teeth.
>Beta carotene is a nutrient provided by me that can help protection of your cells as it is a powerful antioxidant.
>Consuming us can help you with a lesser mucus secretion from your nose
Myself: hahaha!
Orange:> Magnesium n other components can help to keep your blood pressure under check.
>Vitamin B6 can help you with the haemoglobin levels in your blood.
>Folic acid can help in brain development.
>Potassium helps in maintaining electrolyte balance in cells, & also maintain a good cardiovascular system.
Myself: I have heard that you can help us fight many diseases, what are they?
Orange: O’ yes, we can support your war against many diseases like Arthritis, asthma, Alcohol Addiction, constipation, cough n cold, dyspepsia, fever, heart diseases, typhoid, pneumonia, bowel disorders, pimples & acne, measles, n other respiratory problems. Many cold-drinks are sold by my name but don’t contain anything related to my family, they contain artificial flavours. That has also hampered our market.
Myself: O’ my Goodness, you are a Doctor yourself, we don’t need one, if we have you! Anyway, thank you once again for spending your time with me buddy! Now you are going right into my stomach!
As you know people Orange is a great fruit! It can help you fight many diseases. Why to consume it after contracting diseases, when we can protect ourselves from such diseases with so many values it has. It is a technology by nature itself. Why to eat other fruits which provide us with a little fibre and lots of fats. Instead try Orange, in fact An orange a day can also keep doctor away!

Welcome to India

India, the land ruled by Kings, centuries ago. On 14th August, 1947, at 2400hrs., She was borne again, out of the immense torture & hardships from Britishers, typically as the baby embryo faces it when in mother's womb. Today, She is on a new journey, with nascent & truely empowered visions of fellow children, She gave birth to. Her children have ambitions to make her the most powerful Economy in the World. They dream of making her the most desired & peaceful place to live, with no hunger & no war, a place where just like a child feels as if with his mother.
I, Pradyumna, one of the son's of mother India, have a vision to re-Create Her, Beyond Imagination. Make her more Powerful, Independent, Gracious & devoid of Selfness. May your support & blessings of the Lord Of The Shree give me power, ideas & confidence to make vision a reality.
